The legal age to have a hair transplant is 18. However, patients are expected to be at least 20 years old for beard transplantation. This is because beard hair continues to grow into the mid to late 20s.
If the candidates have diabetes, thyroid or blood pressure disease, hair transplant operation can be applied after getting approval from their doctor and after the necessary controls. Hair thinning and hair loss are frequently observed in people with hypothyroidism. If thyroid hormones are treated, hair transplantation can be performed. Hair transplantation cannot be applied to candidates who have chronic diseases such as liver failure, kidney failure, heart failure or who are undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.
